Meet Jim Jacobus
Known on the courts as “Coach Jim,” Jim Jacobus is the founder of Rockport Pickleball Academy and an IPTPA Level II certified instructor. With years of competitive tournament experience and a deep commitment to teaching, Coach Jim brings a wealth of knowledge, skill, and passion to every lesson.
His approach to coaching is both technical and encouraging, allowing players at any level to understand the game’s fundamentals while advancing their skills with confidence.
From beginners to competitive players, Coach Jim’s training sessions are tailored to meet each player’s needs, creating an environment where learning is as enjoyable as it is effective. With his guidance, players not only refine their skills but also build a lifelong love for pickleball.
Meet Alan Davis
Alan is a USAPA Ambassador for South Texas as well as a Level I and Level II IPTPA certified instructor. He has conducted numerous camps/clinics as well as small group and one on one private lessons. He loves to teach folks just starting to play pickleball up to upper level intermediates.
Alan and his wife, Bonnie, make their home in San Antonio, but travel half the year in their RV finding new places to play pickleball. Much of the winter is spent in Rockport. Alan has been coming to Rockport since the early 60’s and it holds a special place in his heart.
From beginners to competitive players, Alan’s training sessions are tailored to meet each player’s needs, creating an environment where learning is as enjoyable as it is effective. With his guidance, players not only refine their skills but also build a lifelong love for pickleball.
